The 2009 growing season in New York has again not been “normal”. Reports from around the state indicate that corn planted for silage is highly variable around the state. In some areas, corn maturity stage and potential yields appear to be very good. In other situations, corn is behind normal maturity.  Look on the Agriculture Page for information on feeding Immature and frosted corn silage

In collaboration with the Allegany/ Western Steuben Rural Health Network, Cornell Cooperative Extension's Southern Tier Wellness Partnership (STWP) is embarking on a new and exciting grant program that is geared to help municipalities in Cattaraugus and Allegany Counties build the infrastructure needed to develop streets that invite physical activity. We are conducting a survey, and your response would be greatly appreciated.

Governor David A. Paterson announced Cornell Cooperative Extension Allegany - Cattaraugus County’s Southern Tier Wellness Partnership is one of 12 community organizations to share in $890,000 in funding over the next five years to adopt “complete streets” policies in local towns and villages.
